
Diet Myths
There are a lot of myths floating around with respect to dieting !
Well....there is nothing holistic about these 'fad' theories...
(Holistic....as a word...agreed....is a much used 'cliche' but the fact is :
Holistic Wellness and Holistic Well Being is no 'slogan' ....it is an approach for total health.... Spiritual, Emotional, Physical...)
We believe that these myths about dieting and a lot of 'dangerous' misconceptions have to be put in a perspective :
Some of the misconceptions are :
One can lose any amount in a given time....by using magic diets !
Permanent Weight Loss is possible by a strict diet regime
Fluid intake should be minimised....to avoid water retention
Carbohydrates are harmful
Protein diets are a great solution !
Avoid certain food categories altogether !
Have a plenty of 'short' meals in place of proper meals !
While the new-age diet gurus are enjoying a roaring business.....many diet-veterans....who are running around in circles would vouch that these fad-mantras are far from effective !
Let us put things in a perspective :
Losing more than a kilo a month is not sustainable....and it can cause serious ....permanent damage to the body mechanism !
Having a wide Variety diet is absolutely....repeat....absolutely essential ! We don't know ( precisely) what food categories provide what micro-nutrients !
Water intake is vital for body cleansing ! Have a lot of water !
Diet fads and 'theories' keep on changing....so please research on the net/otherwise before you start believing in any 'modern' mantra ! Do not be gullible !
Above all....have a suitable work-out regime....love your body.....do not be a calorie counting....starved-to-death.....potential Miss/Mr. Universe !
