What is Creativity

*The ancient Greeks, who believed that the muses were the source of all inspiration, actually had no terms corresponding to “to create” or “creator.” The expression “poiein” (to make) sufficed. The sole exception was poetry: the poet was seen as making new things — bringing to life a new world — while the artist merely imitated.
*Creativity is typically used to refer to the act of producing new ideas, approaches or actions, while innovation is the process of both generating and applying such creative ideas in some specific context
There is, however, a dark side to creativity. It is believed by some that by encouraging creativity we are encouraging a departure from society’s existing norms and values. Expectation of conformity runs contrary to the spirit of creativity. Nevertheless, employers are increasingly valuing creative skills
….So the debate is endless ! !
On the other hand….there are thousands of websites/programs/endeavors that help you boost your creativity…..
If we want to be ‘simply creative’….then…. Let us resolve to be CHILD LIKE…..look at the glorious sunset …..walk in the rain…..and do many such crazy things….
…..and most of all listen to the whisper of GOD……. …do not succumb to THE SYNDROME called “I have to do it because all others are doing it!”
….AND LO….we have started to behave creatively !!!

it is truly amazing that when you start expressing creatively, you truly start realising your true potential... you just need to begin! And then it flows!

I feel creatively is always with us...it is just "Be"...it is when we try to out do, out smart someone or something..then that force becomes hard to harness...just relax and watch out and see what happens when you work with your mind and not against it...

with all love for freud and his sigmuds, a well deserved punch carried out by the author from the desk of the editor--yes, i agree, and wholeheartedly, that creativity runs contralateral to social norms...and whats more, its the socially practicising norms that look to creative fellas for their fruits of creativity, infact it will be realized late in the day, that the purpose of living(in norms) is only or actually to promote these guiding lights who spell the themes for things to unfold. LET ME PUT IT IN ANOTHER WAY......that there being two major forces of life- the life force governed by emotions / heart and the death force governed by logic, reasons, the mind which enforces the systematic organisation of maintaining/containing the life force....the intersting part of living in the contemporary times is that the mind force has overtaken the life force and hence the systems devised by man to regulate life are running overtime and causing distortion in feelings , leading to mistrust, distrust in creativity-!
