Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some hire public relations officers.” Daniel J Boorstin
“Public-relations specialists make flower arrangements of the facts, placing them so that the wilted and less attractive petals are hidden by sturdy blooms”
Alan Harrington
PR is a gospel… These days….
Whatever a well designed PR campaign makes us believe….we certainly do so…
These are the times of the WINDOW DRESSING !!!
It seems that the phrase
“ Lies …damn lies and statistics”
can be modified to read…
“ Lies…damn lies…statistics….and Public Relation Campaigns”
Not that we have anything against PR…..It is a tool in this competitive business world….to make a statement for your products/services etc.
Advertising has been doing this for many many years.
Even PR is not a new kid on the block.
….but what is alarming is the over-indulgence of business players in the game that is PR.
PR is too subtle…
It is like someone else….mostly media….speaking high of you !
…and lo….the gullible consumers take it as the undisputed truth !!!
The issue here is not about desirability of PR
….It is about desirability of strong ethics !!!
