Negative Ego

We all are accustomed in believing ... that ego is the sole culprit ...that causes a person's ruin/downfall !

In fact, Ego is a much maligned word in the entire oriental literature on 'Man and Spirituality'.

Dictionaries also call ego as 'vanity'....and crossword puzzles generally have a field day...describing ego in all kinds of derogatory ways !

Alas.....EGO is the bane !!! A much hated word !

Or is it ?

In reality....we all are ego-driven !

Some are said to have 'obvious' large-size egos.....while there are a lot of others who sneak pass...as ego-less servants of humanity....yet these very 'servants',often, have very subtle egos !!!

What we want to do is to put things in a perspective.

We believe that ego has two aspects:

Negative Ego

Positive Ego

Positive Ego can also be called self-esteem or self-respect.

Positive Ego gives rise to creativity.

It is only the negative aspect of ego that needs to be condemned !!!

 Time has come for a paradigm shift ! Let us start redefining our concepts !
