Slum Dog Millionaire has run away with eight oscars!

The entire Indian Nation is singing Jai Ho !

Jai Ho...means ..."you be victorious"....and victory has been brought home by the extremely talented Music Composer A R Rahman !

The whole victory run of Slum Dog....in the past few weeks....is like a much under-estimated underdog....running away with the trophy !

....or....as if....those who were seen as erstwhile 'have-nots'....now HAVE DONE IT !

We had posted a few days back... that slumdog...the usage of this word...bothered a lot of people who disliked the idea of calling slum dwellers this way !

And we thought...they too had a valid point.....

But in today's euphoria of an International Win...all seems to have been forgotten....and it is quite amusing....as has been seen earlier too....that an International pat on the back...is seen as the ultimate achievement by most Indians !

International recognition is a great...great thing ....but one has to say that an artist's achievement cannot be evaluated by an oscar...or any other award...his body of work ought to be a sufficient testimony!

Rahman is an extremely talented guy....and is adored in India.....and it would not really be a falsity...if this is said... that his musical score in SlumDog is not his very best !

Another thing is...we are all happy that a slum dog millionaire has run away with acclaim....but we can pause....and think of millions of unsung slum underdogs .The whole purpose of cinema is to mirror the society....and also to create a change...a make-over...where required !

Then we can really sing "Jai Ho !"

Well....well....to put all controversies to rest....in the end....it can be said that a "Dogged Determination" can make one victorious ! It does not matter...even  if one is an under dog !
