Kya aman Ki asha rakhni chahiye ????
Is there hope for peace ????
Or is it a wishful thinking ????
A recent initiative called AMAN KI ASHA ....by the leading Indian daily TIMES OF INDIA....is commendable !!!
It is an effort to bring together artists/musicians from the two 'warring' countries....India and Pakistan....
It is an earnest desire that such peace initiatives...powered by creative expressions....would act as a catalyst in the peace processes....It might !!!
In the past too....many initiatives have taken place....with the spirit of 'Aman'
While it is an obvious fact that the two nations ( read populace ) wish to live in peaceful co-existence....it is the POLITICS that plays a spoil sport !!!
So.....what needs to be done ?
As conventional wisdom would suggest....Keep on the good work of initiatives like AMAN KI ASHA.....
...but conventional wisdom is a non-holistic coward !!!
Let us radically change the paradigms....and question the validity of political fundamentalism....not here in the sub-continent....but throughout the world....
Why is it that we all wish peace....but the institutionalised 'wisdom' wishes a conflict....be it India and Pakistan....or Copenhagen....or Iraq....why ????
Let us seriously think of REDEFINING OUR PARADIGMS !!!
