“I tend to think that cricket is the greatest thing that God ever created on earth - certainly greater than sex, although sex isn't too bad either.” - Harold Pinter

So now you have it…straight from a Nobel Laureate !....His thoughts on Cricket … One of the  greatest sports of modern times.

Cricket is a religion…especially in South Asia.

There are always two schools of thought on cricket …as is true with many other things .
Either you like Cricket….then you simply LOVE It !….or you detest it !

This is what The great Shaw had to say on this gentlemen’s game :

“Baseball has the great advantage over cricket of being sooner ended. “
George Bernard Shaw

But there are no two ways about the fact …that Cricket is…. a significant crowd puller….in countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand South Africa and West Indies !

The game has evolved over the years….and for the benefit of those like GB Shaw, who cant wait for five days or even a full day ….there is a much shorter version…..Twenty Twenty or T 20….that gets over in about three hours !

No other game talks so much on PITCH conditions….and that is a funny thing….as some of the greatest players of recent era….are seen….bent on a 22 yard patch…..and talking like Prophets….on how the pitch would behave !!!

Our take on this is:

It’s a great game….but please leave the nitty gritties of analysis to other professions….please play for sporting  fun…. !!! …and please….have a standard ground size too !!!
