Should we Boycott  the Commonwealth Games 2010 ?

We do not boycott something that is happening with our consent !
We boycott oppressive orders....or coercive instructions....or high handedness on the part of authorities !

Surely, Commonwealth Games have raised many questions about:

Corruption in high places

Our ability to stick to deadlines

Our sincerity in using public funds

But....as a nation...we must understand how to deal with these !
We should raise our voice....question the bureaucratic ineffectiveness....even 'recall' the elected representatives.

But as a nation, we must know how to protest ! And when !!!

Surely, Gandhian ideology of non-cooperation is great....but as a nation, we cannot 'non-cooperate' with our elected bodies !!! We should throw them out ....if we feel they are corrupt....or useless !

And while we are debating about the boycott, let us consider this:

We as a nation would surely forget all wrong-doings ....once the glittering opening ceremony starts !

We are past-masters in hoodwinking the 'inspectors' ! So we shall put up a great show !

Crisis management and 'silver-lining-the-clouds' are our forte !

So,  what do we really  think about the recent call to boycott the games ?

We feel it is an act of immaturity !

What we need to boycott....if we really want to make a difference:

...is  the attitude to sit and wait....and watch...and do nothing till media 'throws' up an issue !!!

....and then, make a lot of noise and burn candles....and then conveniently forget !!!
