Celebrities in sports

Sports is increasingly attracting celebrities !

Not that sports persons are any less celebrities ….but the glamour quotient provided by movie stars / popular musicians ….has been on the up….in the recent past.

Take Indian Premier League (IPL T 20)….which was held in South Africa recently.

The glam value of the event was greatly enhanced by the presence of famous movie stars from Indian Film Industry….( which is …..Most unimaginatively….called the BOLLYWOOD)

Lot of journalists and TV personalities have been ‘harping’ on the fact….that IPL cricket is a SUPERB combination of Cricket and Glamour !!!

This USP of sports and glam….has it come to stay ???

Celebrities have made inroads in many walks of life….and now they seem to be making a bee-line for sports !!!

It is both good….and well….undesirable !

While the sports mania  has become a ‘family affair’….now….as compared to a man’s ‘privilege’ in the past…..the spirit of the game….the gamesmanship ….the real high of the game….might go for a six….if glamour and commerce overpower sports !!!
