This is another section
of Dr. Chimpansky’s Laboratory
 
Here experiments are carried out
On men ….good in oratory !
 
Samples have been chosen
Of men from different regions
 
Ordinary men….leaders…
Speakers …and arguers of many reasons !
 
These Experiments are conducted
With Parrots…..in command
 
They are appropriate….aren’t they ?
And this is the methodology’s demand !!!
 
Many tests are undertaken
Many tools of trade applied
 
…what is checked is how often
  And what percentage lied !
 
Men are often given
Half sentences to complete
 
And every Saturday there is
 Updating of the score sheet.
 
Sometimes for more rigorous
Testing of their verbal skills
 
Men are asked to speak ‘unaided’
 And birds watch this for thrills…
 
These experiments have thrown up
Many hypothesis such as this….
 
Large audiences warm up speakers
And they excel in such cases
 
Another interesting finding
Dr C is pleased to note
 Competition helps…
Speech is good if there is vote !!!
 
As for the content analysis
Parrots have this ….to infer….
 
Nothing new is ever said…
Though the speaking styles differ !!!
 
To tap the mental process
To know what is inside….
 
Newly invented psycho meters
   Were used…..to necks were they tied…
 
Some truly interesting findings
Parrots have thus to report…
 
That men think in different ways
But same books they all quote !
 
What is inside is seldom given….
A chance to be spoken out
 
The ‘will’ may be a weakling
But the slogans come out stout !
 
There has been a slight confusion…
Some experimental bias…
 
Since parrots were feeling threatened
Some came up on the dais
 
Now Dr. Chimpansky
  is worried because of this…
 
but many others are amused
they have formed an advanced hypothesis….
 
A new idea has been born
   Though it needs the Head’s approval
 
Put each man against  a parrot
  And watch the wordy duel !!!
